Women in Recovery: COVID-19 and Women’s Labour Market Participation (LMIC)
Two years after the start of the pandemic, jobs recovery for women in Canada has been rapid and is now slightly ahead of men’s recovery. The initial declines in the labour force participation rate among mothers has now been fully reversed.
Mental health-related disability rises among employed Canadians during pandemic, 2021 (Statistics Canada)
Among those who were employed during the first four months of 2021, more than one in five (21.5%) had a physical, mental health, cognitive or other disability. This was an increase of 2.7 percentage points compared with 2019.
Getting hybrid work right (Deloitte)
Done right, hybrid work offers the opportunity for better work-life balance. However, it can also exacerbate inequity. As hybrid work structures continue to expand and evolve, protecting and supporting workers who can only work in person will be critical.
